TPU thick film refers to a relatively thick film material made from thermoplastic polyurethane elastomer through casting, calendering, and other processes. Its thickness generally ranges from 0.1 mm (100 μm) to 2.0 mm (2000 μm). It offers superior strength and durability, capable of withstanding significant pressure and impact.

Based on chemical structure, TPU thick films are classified into polyester-based and polyether-based types.

① Polyester-based TPU Film
Characterized by high strength, good elongation, and excellent abrasion resistance , polyether-based TPU film is suitable for products such as raincoats, inflatable mattresses, footwear materials, and various industrial air airbags etc .

② Polyether-based TPU Film
Features excellent hydrolysis resistance, good low-temperature performance, and mold resistance; while slightly lower in strength, it offers greater toughness, making it suitable for water sports gear, inflatable products, medical equipment etc.

① Lamination of TPU Film and Fabric

By bonding a thick TPU film with polyester or nylon fabric (e.g., 70D, 210D) using adhesive, a composite fabric is created. This material retains the TPU film's key properties—such as excellent waterproofing and airtightness, abrasion and tear resistance, and suitability for inflation and high-frequency or heat-press welding. It is ideal for applications including outdoor inflatable products (air mattresses, pillows, sleeping pads), waterproof bags and luggage, anti-bedsore mattresses, therapeutic massage air bladders, and military inflatable tents.

②TPU Extrusion Coated Fabric

TPU Extrusion Coated Fabric is a composite material created by melting TPU raw material and extruding it directly onto the surface of a base fabric—such as polyester, nylon, Oxford cloth, or non-woven fabric—followed by pressing, cooling, and setting processes to form a continuous functional TPU layer. Available in both single-sided and double-sided coating varieties, this fabric offers excellent water resistance, airtightness, abrasion resistance, tear strength, and cold resistance. It is ideally suited for inflatable products, such as air cushions, airbags, inflatable pillows, and inflatable mattresses etc.
